Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States Allison Hooker has arrived at New Delhi, India, to strengthen the bilateral partnership between the two nations.

Hooker’s visit aims to take forward the U.S.-India relationship on several issues critical to economic and national security, according to the US Embassy in India.

While in New Delhi, Hooker will meet with senior Indian officials to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific, including through the Foreign Office Consultations with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

After New Delhi, Hooker will also visit Bengaluru in the upcoming days, with a focus on deepening economic and commercial ties, including increasing American exports, and fostering collaboration in emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence and space exploration.

In Bengaluru, Hooker will visit the Indian Space Research Organisation and meet leaders from India’s dynamic space, energy, and technology sectors to promote innovation in U.S.-India research partnerships and to explore opportunities for expanded cooperation.

One of the notable objectives behind Hooker’s visit is to help advance President Donald Trump's priorities for a strong partnership between India and the US and a free and open Indo-Pacific.
