Surrey Police Service (SPS) has released the photo of 22-year-old Lovebir Singh who was deported earlier this year on allegations of extortion-related criminal activity.

In a Feb. 23 press release, SPS appealed to the public for information on Singh's associates and activities while he was in Canada.

Singh, who was in Canada since 2023, was deported after SPS notified the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and CBSA carried out an immigration investigation, subsequently removing him from India.

Urging public support, SPS said, "SPS is releasing this photo of Lovebir Singh after determining that disclosure is necessary to assist with ongoing police investigations."

It added, "SPS hopes that the public release of this image of Lovebir Singh prompts additional witnesses, victims, or associates to come forward with relevant information regarding the activities of Lovebir Singh."

Information on Singh's associates could potentially attract a reward from the Surrey Extortion Reward Fund of CA$250,000 (USD$182,780), if charges and convictions of those responsible for these crimes are secured.
