Two Indian-origin university students will present their digital health insurance decision-making tool at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, where the annual technology show is underway through Jan. 9.
Chugh, a computer science major, and Gupta, who is pursuing dual degrees in quantitative economics and healthcare management, developed the platform, called InsuraBridge, to help consumers navigate the process of choosing health insurance plans.

The project was developed under the guidance of Ray Herschman, an adjunct professor, and Mark Votruba, an associate professor at the Weatherhead School of Management, a university release noted.
InsuraBridge uses analytics to assess user preferences, including cost sensitivity, preferred doctors and expected medical needs, and matches users with plan recommendations.
The platform is built on a patented algorithm and uses an application programming interface (API) connected to healthcare exchanges to access plan data, the university said.
Gupta said the large number of options on insurance exchanges makes it difficult for consumers to choose the right plan. “Even for tech-savvy consumers, it’s nearly impossible to know which one is right for you,” he told the Case Western Reserve University’s press.
The students will showcase their prototype in the University Innovations section at CES 2026, alongside student founders and early-stage startups from around the world.
The team is also preparing to roll out a Medicaid application tool aimed at streamlining enrollment by consolidating patient information and auto-completing applications, a process the university said could significantly reduce application times.
