Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has been honoured with a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll after being selected for the first-ever Barbie Dream Team, a global initiative by toy manufacturer Mattel recognising women who are breaking barriers in their fields ahead of International Women’s Day.

Responding to the recognition, Mandhana took to Instagram and wrote,

“Honored to be part of Barbie’s Dream Team alongside incredible women from around the world who are breaking barriers in their own fields. When girls see what’s possible, they dream bigger.”

Mandhana becomes the first cricketer in the world to receive a Barbie doll created in her likeness as part of the initiative, joining a global lineup that includes tennis legend Serena Williams, England footballer Chloe Kelly, astronaut Kellie Gerardi, and seven-time world surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore.
