Pria Anand wins science writing award for her debut book

She explores the mysteries of the human brain through case studies, historical tales and personal memoir in her book.

Indian American neurologist Dr. Pria Anand has bagged the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award for her inaugural book “The Mind Electric: A Neurologist on the Strangeness and Wonder of Our Brains.”

Pria Anand is a neurologist at Boston Medical Center and an assistant professor at Boston University School of Medicine. Her first book “The Mind Electric” is a thought-provoking journey through some of the strangest ways our brains can delude us and what these can teach us about medicine, narrative and being human.
