Performers included Aditi Tandon, Prathyusha Nacha, Ashwath Gurumurthy, and Saanvi Nacha, who curated a set of songs ranging from mid-20th century classics to more contemporary Hindi film music, aiming to connect multiple generations through widely recognized melodies.
Care Chords, based in Basking Ridge, organizes live Indian and Western music programs for senior and assisted-living communities across New Jersey, with a focus on fostering emotional connection and cultural engagement among residents.
The event was held as part of AristaCare’s Indian Nursing Program, an initiative designed to create a culturally familiar environment for residents. Organizers said such programs help seniors maintain a sense of belonging while encouraging social interaction through shared traditions.
Mukund Thakar, founder of the program, said events like these help seniors feel at home while remaining socially connected through cultural experiences.
Established in 1970, FIA is one of the largest grassroots nonprofit organizations representing the Indian American community across multiple Northeastern states and regularly supports cultural and community-based initiatives.
