This year’s program will include a talent show, family cinema contest, Kollywood couple contest, cooking contest, and a musical segment by RaRa, alongside food service for attendees. NJT said the annual gathering is intended to serve as both a Tamil New Year celebration and a broader platform for strengthening community ties through cultural participation and intergenerational engagement.

One of the additions to this year’s event is a mental health awareness initiative in partnership with the South Asian Mental Health Initiative and Network (SAMHIN), which is serving as a Platinum sponsor.

SAMHIN will use the event to engage attendees in open, confidential, and supportive conversations about mental health, while working to reduce stigma and improve mental health literacy within the South Asian community.

NJT describes itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on preserving Tamil culture and building community in New Jersey. The organization says it has more than 400 members and works to bring together Tamil families through cultural celebrations, educational programming, wellness initiatives, and community service.

The group says its broader mission includes promoting cultural enrichment, youth mentorship and learning, health and wellness awareness, and stronger community connections across generations. The event will be held at Edison High School, 50 Boulevard of the Eagles, Edison, NJ 08817.
