Modi invited to Trump's Board of Peace for Gaza

The invites were simultaneously sent to Pakistan, Jordan, Greece and Cyprus, apart from India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to join U.S. President Donald Trump's ambitious Board of Peace, aimed at ending the Israel-Palestine war and ushering in peace in Gaza.

Trump, on Set. 29, 2025 had announced the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, a 20-point roadmap to "solidify peace in the Middle East". This plan was later adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). The Board of Peace, often dubbed as Trump's alternative to the UNSC, will be a part of this plan.

In a letter addressed to Modi, Trump described The Board of Peace as being at the "heart of the Plan". He also hailed the board of peace as "the most impressive and consequential Board ever assembled, which will be established as a new International Organization and Transitional Governing Administration."

Sharing the invitation on X, Sergio Gor, the U.S. Ambassador to India, said, "Honored to convey @POTUS invitation to Prime Minister @narendramodi to participate in the Board of Peace which will bring lasting peace to Gaza. The Board will support effective governance to achieve stability and prosperity!"

If he accepts, Prime Minister Modi will join an illustrious list of world leaders and other prominent figures, including, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Trump's son-in-law and former advisor Jared Kushner, special envoy Steve Witkoff, World Bank President Ajay Banga, billionaire Marc Rowan, and adviser Robert Gabriel.

Apart from India, the invite was also sent to Pakistan, Jordan, Greece and Cyprus.

As per unconfirmed media reports, the current invite is for a free temporary membership and a full membership would require a billion-dollar payout. Additionally, Reuters reported that Trump would chair the board for life, according to the invitation letter and draft charter.
