The restaurant, which had already begun serving customers in the area, was formally inaugurated by Pittsburg Mayor Dionne Adams, who performed the ribbon-cutting and joined the celebrations.

Masala House was founded in 2015 by Delhi-born culinary expert Raj Sharma with the mission of bringing authentic flavors of India to the Concord region. He learned the art of Indian cooking from his grandmother, who emphasized the importance of freshly ground spices and traditional techniques.
With over 20 years of culinary experience, Sharma now serves as head chef and remains dedicated to delivering the true essence of Indian cuisine through vibrant flavors and carefully sourced ingredients.
Signature items on the menu include tikka masala combos; biryanis such as signature chicken and lamb biryani, goat curry, and fish masala curry; and desserts like gajar halwa.
The menu offers a glimpse into the Hyderabadi cuisine, which is famous for its kebabs, biryanis, and flavorful Mughlai offerings that carry the legacy of India’s century-old kitchens that prepared royal feasts.
Masala House also has catering options, offering patrons in Pittsburg and the East Bay area to customize freshly prepared food trays with a variety of authentic Indian and Nepali dishes, with pricing based on tray size. Delivery is available throughout Contra Costa and the surrounding areas, the restaurant said on its website.
The restaurant operates as a sister or expansion spot to the existing Masala House in nearby Concord and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM.
