Rep. Suhas Subramanyam said the arrest of former British ambassador Peter Mandelson marks a "step toward justice" for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse.
“Today’s arrest of Peter Mandelson is another step towards justice for Epstein survivors,” Subramanyam said, following the former British ambassador's arrest on Feb. 23 by London’s Metropolitan Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Democrat, who serves as the ranking member of the House Military and Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee, noted that he had requested Mandelson appear before the Oversight Committee and added that “that offer still stands.”
Subramanyam said recent developments indicate momentum in the congressional probe. However, he added that “most of the accountability is happening outside of the U.S., with a former Prince and now a former ambassador arrested in the UK in just the last week.”
He argued that Congress cannot complete its review without additional cooperation from federal authorities. “We cannot complete a full investigation without the DOJ following the law and releasing all of the files,” he said.
Subramanyam and House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Robert Garcia had previously requested that Peter Mandelson appear before the committee to answer questions regarding his ties to the Epstein case. They made a similar request in Nov. 2025 to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Mandelson’s arrest represents the second high-profile detention in the United Kingdom within a week linked to individuals associated with Epstein’s network, intensifying scrutiny of international connections in the case.
