In a statement shared in the post, Lavine praised Rajkumar’s work in Albany, highlighting her contributions to improving the state’s judicial system and representing diverse communities.

“Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar has been a driving force in making our courts work more fairly and efficiently for all New Yorkers,” said Lavine.

“She works tirelessly and has brought a fresh voice to Albany, ensuring that emerging communities have a real seat at the table. I am proud to endorse her for re-election so she can continue delivering results for the people of New York,” he added.

Rajkumar, who represents the 38th Assembly District in Queens, New York, has built a legislative profile around issues including community representation, public safety, and access to justice.

Support from the chair of the Judiciary Committee is considered a notable backing within the legislature, particularly on matters related to legal and court reforms.

The endorsement comes as Rajkumar, the first South Asian woman and first Hindu-American elected to New York State office, prepares for her upcoming re-election campaign, seeking to retain her seat in the state assembly.
