Indian-origin students win global innovation challenge

The ASU students won first place for a plan to expand internet access in the Navajo Nation.

Two Indian-origin graduate students from Arizona State University won first place in Net Impact’s 2025 Community Innovation Challenge, a global competition held in collaboration with Cisco to develop technology-driven social impact programs.

Mahima Subramaniyan and Devagna Jadeja, students at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, were recognized for DinéLink, which received the top prize of $10,000 for proposing a $12 million sustainable connectivity program for the Navajo Nation.
