Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has not ruled out a potential presidential bid in 2028, stating she remains open to any opportunity to serve the country.
In a recent interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, Gabbard said, “I will never rule out any opportunity to serve my country. If we had talked a year ago, the thought would not have crossed my mind that I would be here and I would be having this conversation.”

Gabbard emphasized that her decisions are guided by a sense of duty and spiritual commitment, saying, “My decisions in my life have always been made around how can I best be of service to God and how can I best be of service to our country. And that is what has led me here.”
Beyond electoral politics, Gabbard has recently made headlines for her role in investigating the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. She announced the creation of the Directors' Initiative Group, a special team tasked with probing U.S. government funding of gain-of-function research, including work conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Gabbard confirmed that her office, in coordination with NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is launching an inquiry into gain-of-function research and the alleged perjury of former White House health adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“The thing that we are working with Jay Bhattacharya… and Secretary Kennedy, is looking at the gain-of-function research that… was actually U.S.-funded and leads to this dangerous kind of research,” Gabbard said. “We are working on that… and look forward to being able to share that, hopefully very soon.”
She stressed the urgency of investigating links between U.S.-funded experiments and the COVID-19 outbreak, arguing that Americans deserve clarity on what led to the global crisis.
