The FBI Sacramento Field Office in a post on Facebook said, “FBI teams nationwide are working alongside the Department of Homeland Security to target dangerous individuals and safeguard our communities.”
The development comes amid heightened concerns over transnational criminal networks operating within the U.S., particularly those linked to violent offenses in India. Authorities have not released additional details about the case or the timeline for potential extradition proceedings.
The arrest of Lakhvinder Kumar adds to the list of high-profile extradition cases involving individuals wanted in India. Notably, in April 2025, the United States extradited Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key suspect in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, to India.
