Five Indian-Americans among Indiana 250 honorees

The recipients will be celebrated at an exclusive reception at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.

IBJ Media has announced its fourth annual Indiana 250 list, recognizing the state’s most influential leaders across business, nonprofit, civic, and media sectors. Among this year’s honorees are five Indian-Americans who have made significant contributions to Indiana’s growth and innovation.

The honorees include Tanuja Singh, president of the University of Indianapolis, Latha Ramchand, the inaugural chancellor of Indiana University Indianapolis, Amish Shah, CEO of Kem Krest, Rupal Thanawala, CEO of Trident Systems LLC, and Aman Brar, principal at Unnatural LLC.

Singh brings over three decades of academic leadership to the role. She previously served as provost at Loyola University New Orleans and as dean of the Greehey School of Business at St. Mary’s University. With a strong background in business education and institutional advancement, Singh is known for fostering workforce-aligned academic programs and community partnerships that support student success and regional development.

“I am honored to be included among some of the brightest minds and most respected leaders across Indiana. This recognition is a reflection of the important work happening at the University of Indianapolis as we bring UIndy’s mission to life—relevant and innovative education that focuses on lifelong learning, enriches learners’ lives with purpose and empowers them with skills that prepare them for the real world,” Singh said. 

Ramchand is celebrated for her forward-thinking leadership in higher education. With over two decades in higher education leadership, she previously served as provost at the University of Missouri and dean at the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business. Known for her expertise in strategic planning, finance, and academic administration, she also serves on the board of Insperity. 

Shah  began his career at Kem Krest in 1996 where he serves as CEO. Under his leadership, Kem Krest has grown to become a $500+ million company that services global Fortune 100 companies. Shah also co-founded ESGI, an early literacy Ed-Tech company which focuses on kindergarten reading comprehension.

Thanawala has over two decades of experience in digital transformation and supply chain innovation. She serves on the Financial Center’s supervisory board, writes a STEM column for the Indianapolis Recorder, and is part of the DEI Leadership Faculty at Indiana University. A Mitch Daniels Leadership Fellow, her career spans roles at Accenture, PwC, and Eli Lilly, with a strong focus on empowering minority communities through technology.

Brar, a seasoned tech entrepreneur and board leader with deep expertise in growth strategy, M&A, and change management. He served as CEO of Jobvite and Canvas, the latter pioneering text-based recruiting, and held leadership roles at Apparatus and ChaCha. Currently, he sits on multiple boards, including AutoMato AI, 120Water, and Your Money Line. Through his advisory firm Unnatural LLC, Brar continues to drive innovation across Indiana’s tech and business ecosystem.

The Indiana 250 will be celebrated at an exclusive reception at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. IBJ Media published profiles of the honorees in a magazine that will be distributed with the July 25 issue of the IBJ.
