Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on June 18 unveiled a 10-point agenda for Ohio, promising tax cuts, lower costs, tougher crime policies and job growth if elected governor.

In a post on X, Ramaswamy listed what he called “10 Things I’ll Do for Ohio,” including slashing property taxes, eliminating the state income tax, cutting electric bills, prosecuting Medicaid fraud, raising academic standards, reducing healthcare costs, bringing high-paying jobs back to the state, cracking down on human trafficking, promoting civic pride in schools and reducing crime in major cities.

“Coming in 2027,” Ramaswamy wrote, referring to the year Ohio’s next governor will take office.

In a video accompanying the post, Ramaswamy said he would “crush crime in our cities,” specifically naming Columbus, Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati, Youngstown and Akron.

The former Republican presidential candidate concluded the video by promising to “make Ohio the top state in America.”

The proposals reflect priorities that have been central to Ramaswamy's gubernatorial campaign since its launch in February 2025, including eliminating Ohio's income tax, reducing property taxes, expanding economic opportunity and pursuing education reforms.

Since entering the race, he has repeatedly argued that Ohio should become "the most affordable, opportunity-rich state in America."

A Cincinnati native and former biotechnology entrepreneur, Ramaswamy launched his bid for governor in February 2025 after ending his 2024 presidential campaign.

He is seeking to succeed term-limited Republican Governor Mike DeWine and has positioned his campaign around economic growth, government reform and public safety.

In May, Ramaswamy won Ohio's Republican gubernatorial primary, securing the GOP nomination.

Ramaswamy has received backing from President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans. He is expected to face Amy Acton in Ohio's November 2026 gubernatorial election.
