Virginia Durga Temple hosts Valentine’s Musical Hangama

The Durga Temple of Virginia hosted a Valentine’s Day Musical Hangama on Feb. 21, organized by the Mere Apne Seniors Team. The event, held at the Fairfax County Government Center Auditorium, brought together over 250 seniors who celebrated love, music, and community.

Participants were encouraged to wear red or pink, and many responded enthusiastically, with 99 attendees arriving dressed in red, adding to the festive atmosphere. The seniors showcased coordination in their saree colors, reflecting the dedication they put into the event’s theme.

Music was at the heart of the celebration, with performances led by duo Most Me and Kushal from the band Music Mantra, who entertained the audience with Bollywood classics.

The event also featured a music class led by Guruji and Meenu Siddhuji, who engage the community every Tuesday evening, fostering a love for music and cultural learning.

One of the highlights was the finale, where a couple’s dance was choreographed and performed by Mili-ji, who taught the seniors, marking an energetic end to the event.
