US-India SME Council recognizes healthcare, tech, and community leaders

The US-India SME Council hosted its fourth Incredible INC. 50 Awards Gala in Greenbelt, Maryland, on Sept. 24.

Earmarked as a celebration of global innovation, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian excellence, the event witnessed a gathering of diplomats, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across the United States and India.

Sharing a vision of progress, inclusion, and cross-cultural collaboration, Ana Irene Delgado, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Panama to the Organization of American States, put forth the keynote address.

Apart from Delgado, Global SME Alliance Chairman, Dr. Sudhakar Gande, and President and CEO of the US-India SME Council, Elisha Pulivarthi, also attended the gala.

The awards gala honored numerous community and political leaders for their contributions to healthcare, technology, and community service.

Dr. Jesse Singh, Chief Operating Officer of the Center for Social Change, was honored alongside Dr. Sajid Tarar for their exceptional compassion and leadership in improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities, receiving the Outstanding Compassionate Service Award. Their work was described as a model of service that uplifts the most vulnerable with dignity and empathy.

Distinguished recognitions were also presented to Dr. Sujatha Ghatty for excellence in Hi-Tech Healthcare Services, Dr. Neeraj Egana for psychiatric innovation, and Mr. Reva Jafar for global ICT leadership.

Dr. Sanjay Rai, Maryland’s Secretary for Higher Education, received the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Award, while New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was honored with the Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace and Leadership Award. The event also recognized Michael and Grace Swiniitha Osui, Dr. Jessie Singh, and Dr. Sajid Tarar with the 3D Crystal Award for their continuous service to humanity.

In her address, Ambassador Delgado praised the Council’s enduring efforts to promote women’s empowerment, leadership, and community resilience.

She also commended the awardees for embodying the spirit of determination and creativity that defines the best of both the United States and India. She noted the importance of the gala celebration and said, “This event is not only about honoring achievement—it is about celebrating human potential and the power of collaboration.”

A special tribute was offered to the President and CEO of the US-India SME Council, Elisha Pulivarthi, for his visionary leadership and selfless service. Pulivarthi was described as a “trailblazing community legend” whose life has been dedicated to empowering others and fostering friendship between nations.

A key highlight of the gala was the cultural celebration, featuring performances by the Bombay Girls and vibrant music.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Sudhakar Gande captured the essence of the celebrations by noting that the INC. 50 Awards were not just a reflection of business or professional success but a celebration of humanity’s highest ideals—compassion, creativity, and courage.
