Sunita Mani in Netflix’s ‘His & Hers’ turns heads

Mani, who has her roots in Tamil Nadu, India, plays the key role of Detective Priya in the series.

Indian-origin American actress Sunita Mani has caught the attention of viewers in Netflix’s new American crime mystery thriller, ‘His & Hers,’ where she plays the role of Detective Priya Patel.

The series, which was released on Jan. 8, focuses on a police investigation that starts with the brutal murder of a woman named Rachel Hopkins.

Since its release, the series, directed by William Oldroyd, has been among the most-watched series of the week in India.

Mani, who has her roots in Tamil Nadu, India, plays the key role of Detective Priya, who is the partner of the lead character of the series, Detective Jack Harper, played by Jon Bernthal.

Along with being an actress, Mani is also a dancer and comedian. She received major acclaim for her role as Trenton in the thriller series Mr. Robot (2015–2017) and as Arthie Premkumar in the Netflix wrestling comedy GLOW (2017–2019).

She also caught attention in the 2020 sci-fi comedy film "Save Yourselves!" where she played Sue alongside John Reynolds.

Mani recently starred in the romantic comedy A Nice Indian Boy (2024/2025), which explores South Asian identity and family dynamics. She also appears in the upcoming dark comedy The Roses (2025) alongside Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Mani was born on December 13, 1986, in Dickson, Tennessee, to parents Venk Mani and Usha Mani, who originally hail from Tamil Nadu.
