The panelists discussing the India-U.S. nuclear deal / Stimson via YouTube
The sharp deterioration in U.S.-India relations over the past year and a half drew concern from leading South Asia scholars at a discussion hosted by the Stimson Center on the legacy of the landmark U.S.-India nuclear deal, with Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Sumit Ganguly warning that decades of bipartisan efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries were at risk of being undone.
The discussion, moderated by Stimson Center Fellow Akriti (Vasudeva) Kalyankar, stood as an examination of the deal through the lens of two of its panelists, Hoover Fellows Sumit Ganguly and Dinsha Mistree, the authors of The US-India Nuclear Accord: History, Analysis, and Reflections, along with input from Daniel Markey, senior fellow, South Asia and China programs, Stimson Center, and Elizabeth Threlkeld, senior fellow and director, South Asia Program, Stimson Center.
