The campaign released the advertisement as its final ad of the Democratic primary race, emphasizing themes of unity and collective responsibility.
“Maine needs a governor guided by evidence, motivated by compassion, driven by urgency, and committed to our shared responsibility to care for one another,” Shah wrote in a post on X announcing the ad release.
The ad concludes with Shah saying Maine has “come together before to tackle tough challenges” and that he is ready to do it again as governor.
The advertisement is the latest in a campaign that has focused heavily on healthcare, housing affordability, food insecurity, and economic growth. Shah’s campaign website says he is running to “fix housing, fund healthcare, feed kids, and fuel growth for all Mainers.”
Earlier campaign messaging and ads from Shah emphasized his record as Maine CDC director and cast him as a pragmatic problem-solver capable of handling crises.
In recent weeks, the campaign also launched a statewide “Get Out The Vote” tour ahead of the June 9 Democratic primary.
Recent polling has shown Shah among the leading candidates in the five-way contest, alongside former Senate President Troy Jackson, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Hannah Pingree, and Angus King III.
