Investor-podcaster Nikhil Kamath on Nov. 28 set off speculation after sharing a monochrome teaser video that appears to show him with Elon Musk.

The clip shows the two seated across a table, sharing a light moment and sipping from cups marked with the logo of Musk’s aerospace company. Kamath posted the video on X with the caption, “Caption this @elonmusk.”

The teaser quickly drew intense interest, with several users questioning whether the video was real or AI-generated.

One viewer asked, “Is it real or AI?” even as the post gained traction as a potential milestone for Indian podcasting. A user wrote, “Nikhil Kamath, man, getting Elon on board, you have just hit the peak of podcasting.”

Others joked about the on-screen “chemistry” or the fact that “your guest owns the app you’re tweeting from.”

Some users also speculated on stock-market implications, with one suggesting Zerodha’s valuation could jump if cofounder Nithin Kamath “laughs at one of Elon’s jokes.”

Another urged Kamath to ask Musk “tough questions” about the platform, including concerns over racist behaviour towards Indians on X.

Despite the mixed reactions, the teaser added to expectations that Kamath may be preparing to host one of the world’s most influential tech leaders.

Kamath’s show, WTF is with Nikhil Kamath, has featured a string of high-profile guests this year, including Bill Gates, YouTube chief executive Neal Mohan, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and Infosys chairman Nandan Nilekani.

The apparent Musk appearance comes amid renewed attention on his business interests in India, including Tesla’s Model Y launch and ongoing discussions around Starlink’s potential role in expanding internet connectivity in remote regions.
