Netflix has released the official trailer for its high-energy Bollywood-fusion dance movie “Best of the Best,” spotlighting “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia in a story filled with explosive choreography, fierce rivalry and deep sisterhood.
Directed by Lena Khan (“Flora & Ulysses”), “Best of the Best” centers on Maya (Ramakrishnan) and Anjali (Kedia), two childhood best friends who head off to college and join UCLA’s prestigious, highly competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team.
While the duo enters with big dreams of taking their skills to the national stage, the trailer teases that the journey toward the U.S. Championship is far more raucous, flashy and emotionally taxing than either of them anticipated.

As the fierce competition escalates, the pressure threatens to pull the best friends apart, putting their long-standing bond to the ultimate test.
The story explores themes of ambition, loyalty and self-discovery while centering on the challenges of college life and competitive dance.
Written by Prashanth Venkataramanujam and Hasan Minhaj, the supporting cast includes Ankur Rathee, Janina Gavankar, Chaneil Kular, Becky Alex, Shreya Navile, Hasan Minhaj, Lilly Singh, Nihar Duvvuri, Nico Greetham, Amryn Khurana, Tanishq Joshi, Saara Chaudry and Sasha Bhasin.
The film premieres on Netflix on Sept. 18.
