Indian-American business leader Naren K. Gursahaney was re-elected to the Penn State Board of Trustees on May 9.
His new term, as one of six business and industry trustees on the board, will begin on July 1.
Gursahaney, a 1983 graduate of Penn State, is the former president, CEO, and director of the ADT Corporation. He currently serves on the boards of NextEra Energy and Berwind Corporation. He was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2022.

Over the years, Gursahaney has maintained strong ties with his alma mater, contributing to scholarships and excellence funds in the College of Engineering and the College of Information Sciences and Technology. He has also supported the Penn State Student Veteran Center and serves on multiple advisory boards across the university.
He has received several honors from Penn State, including the Alumni Fellow Award, the Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award.
Gursahaney holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State and a masters of business administration from the University of Virginia.
Penn State’s 38-member Board of Trustees includes representatives from the governor’s office, alumni, agriculture, students, academia, business and industry, and at-large members. Trustees serving in business and industry roles are elected by the board, with terms staggered so that two expire each year.
