DFW Gujarati Samaj hosted a free matrimonial event on Dec. 6 at the Hyatt Place in Garland, drawing nearly 200 attendees for an evening of face-to-face introductions rooted in shared cultural values and backgrounds.
The gathering offered a relaxed setting for participants to meet potential partners, and feedback during and after the event was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees praised the organisation and called it one of the best matchmaking mixers they had experienced. The turnout exceeded expectations, leaving several last-minute applicants unable to secure a spot.
The event was organised by Anil Dhudshia, Rupal Chokshi, and Vigyan Gotewal, with support from volunteers. India Bazaar chain stores sponsored the food, while remaining costs were covered by DFW Gujarati Samaj.
Asked about plans for future events, Gotewal told NIA that the team currently hosts two such gatherings each year. “Looking at the success and demand of the event, we might host more of these,” he said. A similar matrimonial event is planned for mid-2026.
