A recent post on X by Kaylee Campbell went viral as she accused Indian-Americans of "scamming" housing communities in the Texas cities of Frisco and Plano.
Campbell, who has often extended her support politically to the right-wing online, shared a video from a recent Frisco City Council meeting and alleged that members of the Indian community were ‘subleasing’ apartments to their ‘friends,’ while blocking others from accessing housing.
The video in context shows a woman identified as Kelly, who spoke at the Frisco City Council meeting and claimed that Indians were manipulating housing systems in Texas communities, restricting individuals of other races or nationalities from getting apartments.
Indians are scamming the housing community in Frisco & Plano by subleasing to their friends, blocking ANYONE ELSE from potentially getting housing.

She mentioned that she holds a Texas real estate license and has earlier worked as an assistant property manager for a company operating apartment communities in Frisco and the surrounding areas.

Kelly, who also spoke about demographic shifts in Frisco, further referred to a pattern of exploitation as she claimed that an Indian applicant would qualify for an apartment lease, but later, a different individual would collect the keys.
She alleged that the individual occupying the apartment would not have undergone the same screening process, which she referred to as a "fair housing issue."
Kellt claimed that such instances were occurring at a scale in Frisco and Plano that required police intervention.
She went on to claim this dynamic was contributing to Texans becoming homeless.
She also alleged that documents were being falsified during lease applications while accusing Indians Indians of discriminatory practices and referencing allegations of fraudulent degrees in India.
With a significant increase in the Indian-origin population in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in recent years, an anti-Indian sentiment has also surged, coinciding with renewed political debate over immigration policy.
Netizens shared mixed opinions in Campbell’s viral post, with some citing the legal rights of residents with respect to housing, while some called for the deportation of Indian-origin landlords and renters.
