The Consulate General of India in Los Angeles has begun offering visa and Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) services from April 6.

The services are available to applicants residing in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico, the consulate said in a public announcement. These services were earlier being handled through the Consulate General of India in San Francisco.

In a post on X, the mission said passport, Global Entry Program (GEP), Police Clearance Certificate (PCC), and Surrender Certificate applications from the four-state jurisdiction will continue to be processed through the San Francisco consulate.

It said all applications from the jurisdiction must be submitted through VFS Global’s Los Angeles center, the outsourced application processing partner for Indian consular services.

Applicants seeking regular Indian visas have also been directed to the Government of India’s authorized visa application portal, while e-visa services for eligible categories remain available separately.

The rollout marks an expansion of services at India’s Los Angeles mission, which serves parts of the U.S. Southwest.

The move also follows the opening of a VFS-operated Indian Consular Application Center in Los Angeles in late 2025, part of a broader effort to improve access to consular services for the Indian diaspora and other applicants in the region.

The announcement comes alongside the launch of a new OCI services portal aimed at simplifying the application process through easier document uploads, simplified payments, real-time application tracking, and improved navigation.
