The Consulate General of India in Atlanta, in collaboration with Emory University, will host a fireside chat on April 30 on advancing U.S.-India partnerships in science and biotechnology.
Titled “Advancing U.S.-India Partnerships in Science and Biotechnology: The Emory Experience,” the event is part of the consulate’s Tech Thursdays series and will bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss research, innovation and future opportunities in the sector.

The discussion comes as the Atlanta mission has expanded its technology- and innovation-focused outreach in recent months. In one recent #TechThursday engagement, the consulate partnered with the Georgia Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and Atlanta Technology Professionals for a session highlighting India’s upcoming AI Impact Summit 2026, reflecting its growing emphasis on technology diplomacy and industry engagement.
Emory’s participation also builds on its existing academic and research engagement with India. The university says it established Emory India Research and Education Innovation in 2019 to support collaborations in the country and expand work in research, education, innovation and capacity-building.
According to Emory, its India-linked work spans health sciences, public health, business and the humanities, with collaborations and research activity in areas including vaccine research, diabetes, cancer and global health.
The Indian Consulate in Atlanta serves several southeastern U.S. states, including Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina, making it a key diplomatic post for India’s outreach in the region.
The event will be held from 4 p.m. onward on April 30, at the Consulate General of India in Atlanta.
