Attendees of the IAMA 45th Annual Gala / Asian Media USA
The Indian American Medical Association (IAMA) Illinois chapter organized its 45th Annual Gala and Business Meeting at Downers Grove in Illinois.
Attended by over 200 physician members and guests, the event combined professional updates, elections, awards, and entertainment. Hosted by Ashok and Megha Doshi and emceed by Jason Shah, the program opened with the U.S. and Indian national anthems performed by Ashi Sarai and Dr. Rohit Vasa.

During the business session, the members elected Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Dr. Neetha Dhananjaya and Dr. Vivek Mohan as the President, Secretary and Treasurer of the organization. Dr. Niranjana Shah, Dr. Samir Shah, Dr. Suresh Chakrabharti were also recognized for their leadership and contributions
A special award was presented to Dr. Dilip Shah, the outgoing President of the organization. In his address, Dr. Shah highlighted the key initiative undertaken by the organization in the past year, including free medical camps for over 400 patients, over $180,000 raised for the IAMA Charitable Foundation, World Yoga Day collaboration, and the Golden Stethoscope research awards for young physicians.
Community leaders and trailblazing physicians were honored as part of the celebration. The President’s Appreciation Award was given to Larry Herman, the Village President of Oakbrook, the Distinguished Physician Award was given to Dr. Piyush Vyas and Dr. Usharani Nimmagadda Woman Physician Leadership Award was presented to Dr. Meghmala Doshi.
The festivities came to a close with a live performance rooted in Indian classical, Sufi, and fusion music by the 'Heat Fire' band.
