The Consulate General of India in Houston is pleased to partner with USISPF and the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies (CES), Rice University, for the upcoming industry roundtable titled “Opportunities in India’s Energy Markets.” The event will be held on May 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Houston, Texas.
The roundtable is expected to bring together stakeholders to discuss opportunities in India’s energy sector and the potential for deeper India–U.S. collaboration. Organizers said the session will focus on current developments in the sector and explore avenues for engagement between the two countries.

According to the announcement, the discussion will center on emerging opportunities in India’s energy market and the broader policy and investment landscape. The session is positioned as an interactive forum for participants to exchange insights and perspectives on the evolving energy ecosystem.
The event is being organized in partnership with the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum and the Baker Institute at Rice University. The collaboration reflects continued engagement between institutions in both countries on energy-related issues.
Speakers listed for the session include D.C. Manjunath, ‘Consul General of India in Houston’; Dr. Nikit Abhyankar, ‘Co-Faculty Director of the India Energy and Climate Center, UC Berkeley’; Gabriel Collins, ‘Baker Botts Fellow in Energy & Environmental Regulatory Affairs’; and Siddharth Aryan, ‘Senior Director, Energy & Infrastructure, USISPF.’
The Consulate said the roundtable is intended for professionals and stakeholders in the energy domain. It encouraged participation from those interested in the sector and in India–U.S. engagement.
