The webinar was held virtually and brought together diaspora business leaders from the U.S., the U.K., Africa, and India to reflect on the challenges, resilience, and achievements of Indians who built global business success after emigrating from their homeland, often with limited financial resources.
The webinar began with welcome remarks by GOPIO Associate Secretary and Chair of the Monthly Webinar Series, Sunil Vuppula, who introduced Chairman Thomas Abraham and International President Prakash Shah.
Abraham welcomed participants with greetings of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, celebrated on Jan. 9, and recalled the achievements of the Indian diaspora and said,
“Their achievements have made a lasting global impact and continue to inspire generations of Indians worldwide,” added Abraham.
Prakash Shah introduced the webinar moderator, Anil Bansal, President of First National Realty Management, who shared his own entrepreneurial journey, followed by him introducing the keynote speaker, Bhuvan Lall, a writer, biographer, and documentary producer.
Lall spoke on the global success of Indian entrepreneurs and trailblazers, emphasizing their ability to preserve Indian values while achieving international recognition.
Founder and Chairman of the KPC Group, Kali Pradip Chaudhuri, emphasized on the need for Indians to focus on present and future challenges rather than resting on past achievements, while Rami Ranger shared his personal journey from India to the U.K.
Attorney and CPA Navneet Chugh provided insights into Indian immigration to the U.S.
During the audience interaction, Abraham explained GOPIO’s evolution, while Shah emphasized the importance of technology in connecting the global Indian community through regular webinars.
A concluding panel discussion explored India’s progress and global challenges. Panelists also shared personal journeys and stressed the importance of community involvement and integration.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Abraham, who also announced an upcoming meeting on the Indian Diaspora Museum Project, scheduled for Jan. 17.
