India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described the BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi as “a Mandir every Indian must visit” during his visit on June 10.
Accompanied by Joint Secretary for Gulf Affairs Aseem Raja Mahajan, Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir, and senior officials, Misri was welcomed at the Harmony Wall by Brahmavihari Swami, head of the temple.
“This is not just a building; it is an expression of faith, beliefs, and ideas that are transcendental. it is a mandir deserving of the greatest accolades...and will be spoken about for generations. People may think it is for religion, but it is something for the world, for humanity, for our universal existence....It is a Mandir every Indian must visit,” Misri said.
Misri also toured The Fairy Tale, an immersive exhibit conveying themes of mutual respect and universal values. He offered prayers at the seven inner shrines and reflected on the legacy of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the spiritual visionary behind the Mandir.
Swami Brahmaviharidas guided the delegation, sharing insights into the temple’s design and its message of unity between humanity and the divine.
The visit also reinforced the strong cultural and diplomatic bonds between India and the UAE. Misri expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting the Mandir’s construction, calling it “an emblem of shared values, bridging hearts and cultures across the globe.”
