Texas-based enterprise software company Epicor has appointed Indian-origin tech executive Vaibhav Vohra as its chief executive officer effective Oct. 1.
Vohra will succeed Steve Murphy, who will step down as CEO at the close of the company’s fiscal year on Sept. 30, 2026. Murphy will continue to serve on Epicor’s board of directors.
The leadership transition follows a planned succession process led by the company’s board. The process began with Vohra’s appointment as president in October 2024. Murphy and Vohra will work together to facilitate the transition and ensure business continuity, the company said.

Vohra joined Epicor in 2021 as chief product officer and has since held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as president and chief product and technology officer.
During his time at the company, Vohra has overseen product strategy, development, management and design. He has also been involved in advancing Epicor’s cloud, artificial intelligence, data and supply chain strategy.
Before joining Epicor, Vohra held a product leadership role at Gecko Robotics and executive product positions at SAP.
Commenting on his new role, Vohra said, “I am honored to lead Epicor as we enter a new era of transformation across enterprise software. Over the past five years, I’ve seen firsthand the people, customers, and partners that make this company special. Our focus remains on helping our customers grow and succeed in an increasingly dynamic world. I want to thank Steve for his exceptional leadership and for all he has done to position Epicor for continued success.”
“Vaibhav is a proven leader with deep experience in enterprise software, and I am confident he is the right person to lead Epicor into its next chapter. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Steve for his outstanding leadership at Epicor and the strong foundation he leaves in place,” said Jeff Hawn, chair of Epicor's board of directors.
“With the company performing well and a clear strategy in place, this is the right time for a change. Vaibhav has been instrumental in shaping our product and technology direction, and he is the right leader for what comes next,” outgoing CEO Murphy said.
Vohra earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, Master of Science from the University of Southern California. He completed his Bachelor of Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
