Emory University’s Goizueta Business School has announced the establishment of the Dr. Jagdish N. Sheth Endowed Professorship named after Indian-American marketing scholar, Jagdish N. Sheth.

The new marketing professorship will support cutting-edge research, elevate classroom experiences, and enhance the school’s reputation as a leader in marketing thought leadership, the University said in a statement.

Sheth, the Charles H. Kellstadt professor of business, has authored more than 350 research papers and 30 books, leaving a lasting mark on areas such as consumer behavior, relationship marketing, and emerging markets. His academic career includes positions at MIT, Columbia, USC, and Emory, where he has served since 1991.

“Jagdish Sheth has made unparalleled contributions to the field of marketing. The scholar who holds this endowed faculty position will carry forward Sheth’s legacy and advance Goizueta Business School’s standing as a marketing powerhouse,” said Gregory L. Fenves, president, Emory University.

The professorship was made possible through the support of donors, notably Manu and Rika Shah, co-founders of MS International, who called Sheth a “visionary scholar and global marketing guru.”

Sheth expressed gratitude to Emory and to his family and supporters. “I am deeply grateful to president Gregory L. Fenves and dean Gareth James for establishing an endowed chair in marketing in my name. I also want to thank our dear family friends Manu and Rika Shah—co-founders of MS International—for their generous support.”

A global search is currently underway to appoint a senior-level scholar whose work exemplifies innovation, academic excellence, and industry engagement—core values championed by Sheth throughout his distinguished career.
