Diwali Mela comes to Mckinney Myers Park as part of the Dallas Festival of Lights on October 18. 

The event is anticipated to attract approximately 8000-10000 attendees, with a full day of festivities scheduled from noon to 10 p.m. There will be two Ramayanas- in English and in Hindi. 

Approximately 150 vendors will be present at this event, offering a diverse selection of cuisine from the north to the south, and catering to all regions of India. The event claims to have the largest vendor bazaar for all Dhanteras shopping needs, including jewelry, clothes, and home décor. 

The Mckinney event features a free carnival, free boxes of sweets for the first 500 families, a free box of sparkles for the first 1000 children, numerous free giveaways from major Indian brands in the United States, and children's competitions. 

Speaking to New India Abroad, Vijay Warman said Diwali is not complete without lots of presents, Hindi Ramlila and food. “Here in Texas, thousands of miles from India, our Diwali Mela becomes more than a festival- it’s a bridge between roots and dreams. We celebrate our heritage with pride, our community with love and our allegiance to America with gratitude- proving that light shines brighter when cultures unite,” he said.

The Denton County India Cultural Association (DCICA) is hosting a free event on Oct. 25 from 4pm to 10pm at Gerault Park in Flower Mound. The event will feature a kids' carnival, a fashion show, and a variety of cultural performances. 

Chalk the Walk, an art competition, is the event's highlight. The competition is divided into age groups ranging from 5 to 15 years, with prizes for the winners and certificates for all participants.

India Festival of Lights Frisco celebrates Diwali Mela in Kaleidoscope Park in Frisco on October 26. Grand fireworks, laser show, ramleela, talent shows, Bollywood entertainment will be the highlights of this event. 

The Hindu Temple of Greater Fort Worth will celebrate Deepavali from October 18 to October 20 with various prayer ceremonies, fireworks, annakut, Shri Govardhana pooja, and many other events. 

DFW Hindu Temple Ekta Mandir is celebrating the festival on October 21, the day of Diwali. According to President Manoj Chopra, the event will include sparklers and boxed dinners, as well as a live DJ. The event will begin with Lakshmi and Chopda Puja at 6 p.m., followed by Diwali celebrations at 7 p.m., and Annakut on October 26. 

As a service to humanity, Sewa International DFW, a collaboration of over 300 dharmic organizations, communities, and individuals from across the United States, will collect canned food from October 6 to December 15. Cereals, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned pasta, crackers, coffee, tea, ketchup, cookies, box rice, or any non-perishable food item can be donated, as well as a monetary donation to purchase food on behalf of donors.
