MedLife Northern Virginia HS chapter and Natya Margam organized ‘Explore Culture and Cosmos: An Evening of Indian Classical Dance Recital & Space Science Seminar’, on June 7.
The event featured a performance by Indrani Davaluri, the artistic director of Natya Margam and a seminar by Dr. Kavya K Manyapu, an Indian–American aerospace engineer and scientist.
The fundraising event also saw the celebration of Rajesh Gooty’s contributions to the society. Gooty was presented with an ‘Award of Appreciation’ for his support to Natya Margam by Virginia Senator Kannan Srinivasan.
Gooty is an active member of the diaspora community and is known for his service to the community.
He encouraged the young attendees and said, “The youth are not just the future; they are the catalysts of change today. Empowering them means providing the tools, confidence, and opportunities to innovate, challenge the status quo, and build a world that reflects their highest aspirations.” He advocated for mentorship and education and remarked, “Every young person deserves a chance to dream big, whether through STEM, the arts, or social entrepreneurship,”
