Major League Cricket (MLC) will begin its third season on June 12, 2025, with a series of matches hosted at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. This marks the first time the venue will be used for professional cricket, as part of MLC’s continued efforts to expand the sport’s presence in the United States.
A total of nine matches will be played at the venue, featuring all six franchises in the league. The Coliseum, traditionally home to baseball, has been transformed with a drop-in pitch—previously used during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup—making it cricket-ready.
“The Oakland Coliseum has long been a destination for sports and entertainment, and we are excited to add cricket to its continuing legacy,” said City of Oakland Interim Mayor Kevin Jenkins. “This move underscores Oakland’s status as a diverse and dynamic sports city, and we look forward to supporting the growth of cricket in our community.”

The losing finalists in 2024, San Francisco Unicorns, co-owned by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Venky Harinarayan and Anand Rajaraman, will play three home games at the Coliseum.
"The Bay Area has a deep and growing love for cricket," David White, the franchise's CEO, said. "This move allows us to create an unforgettable match-day experience in one of the region's most iconic venues."
Following the Bay Area leg, the tournament will shift to Grand Prairie, Texas, and then Lauderhill, Florida, where the championship final is scheduled for July 13. With 34 matches in total, MLC Season 3 is the league’s most ambitious edition yet.
The inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics further underscores the sport's rising prominence in the U.S., with MLC poised to play a pivotal role in its development and mainstream acceptance.
