The Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas hosted an 11-day Navratri and Dussehra festival from Sept. 21 to Oct. 1, attracting thousands of devotees and community members from across the Dallas area.
Vibrant colors, devotional music, and a festive spirit marked the festivities as participants gathered to honor Durga Maa and celebrate traditional Indian culture.
Each evening featured Garba and Dandiya Raas performances, accompanied by a live professional band from India. Families and children participated in large numbers and celebrated the symbolic triumph of good over evil.

The festival also included special Kids’ Garba sessions designed to engage younger participants in Indian traditions in an interactive and enjoyable way.
“These events help children connect with their heritage while making the experience fun and memorable,” said temple coordinator Priya Sharma.
The festival concluded on Oct. 1 with a grand Dussehra celebration in the temple courtyard. Highlights included a Ramleela performance and the Ravan Dahan ceremony, featuring a 27-foot effigy of Ravan set ablaze amid fireworks.
Thousands of attendees joined in chanting “Jai Shree Ram!” as the night sky lit up, creating a moment of collective devotion and celebration.
Organizers noted that large-scale celebrations like this foster community connections while keeping traditions alive. “Our goal is to bring people together, celebrate our culture, and pass these values to future generations,” said temple president Ramesh Patel.
