"Come Back Home": Industry voices invite H-1B professionals back to India

As H-1B concerns rise, commentary from Indian business leaders stresses the appeal of returning home to pursue expanding opportunities.

As debate intensifies over proposed changes to the U.S. H-1B visa program, several prominent Indian business leaders have urged professionals abroad to reconsider their future in the United States and look at opportunities back home.
 

Radhika Gupta, managing director and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, said on X that India today offers far stronger prospects than it did two decades ago. Reflecting on her own experience as a 2005 U.S. graduate, she noted how many Indian students felt “upset, lost, and stuck” after the 2008 financial crisis due to tightening visa rules. Gupta ended her message with the appeal, “Aao, ab laut chalen” (“Come, now let’s return”).
