Binal Patel has been appointed executive director of Neighborhood Villages, the Boston-based nonprofit working to reform early childhood education. Patel, who previously served as chief program officer, formally steps into the role after five years with the organization.
A former preschool teacher and program director, Patel joined Neighborhood Villages after meeting co-founders Sarah Muncey and Lauren Kennedy through a course she taught at Bunker Hill Community College. The class, held at the Epiphany Early Learning Center, was one of Neighborhood Villages’ first initiatives aimed at reducing barriers for educators.
