The New Jersey State Chapter of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) celebrated Mother’s Day on May 20.
The event hosted at the Deewan restaurant was attended by approximately 75 physicians and their families. Its main highlight was a physician moms’ ramp walk, where participants showcased their traditional attire.
In addition to the festivities, an insightful panel discussion on “Atrial Fibrillation: From Ablation to LAAA Closure, GI Bleed and Anticoagulation,” moderated by Dr. Archna Patel was held. The panel included Dr. Atul Prakash, Subhashini Gowda, Sanjukta Sanyal, Kunal Gupta, and Ritu Nahar, who shared perspectives on advancements in cardiac care.
Christopher Bowers of Northfield Bank conducted a session on account safety, security, and fraud prevention, offering advice on financial wellbeing.
NJ State AAPI president Dr. Sudha Nahar and chair of the board of trustees Dr. Rachana Kulkarni, along with other executive committee members, honored the panelists and contributors for their dedication and service.
The evening underscored NJ State AAPI’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, physician education, and cultural enrichment.
Contributions from Joe Lentini of Boston Scientific and Angie Tsirkas of Northfield Bank highlighted the importance of strong partnerships in advancing medical education and public health.
NJ State AAPI continues to serve as a platform for professional development, advocacy, and meaningful cultural dialogue within the medical community.
