More than 45,000 individuals across 100 cities in the United States participated in the annual BAPS Charities Walk-Run, held over the weekend.

The event, organized under the theme ‘Spirit of Service’, reflected a coordinated effort to promote civic engagement and community welfare across the country.

Each city selected its own beneficiary, allowing the Walk-Run to address specific regional needs. Notable partnerships included NAMI Greater Houston in Texas, providing support for mental health services; local public schools in San Jose, California; a children's cancer camp in Orlando, Florida; and veteran support services in Dallas, Texas.

Additional cities, including Detroit, Albany, and Philadelphia, directed proceeds to fire departments, underserved neighborhoods, and community centers.

Local leaders and civic officials participated in several locations. In Sugar Land, Texas, Mayor Joe Zimmerman acknowledged the community’s involvement, stating, “Your community makes a real difference in Sugar Land. What you do matters.”

“From New York to Houston, and San Jose to Detroit, our interconnected community is driven by compassion, ensures our work touches lives in cities all across the country,” said Nilkanth Patel, president of BAPS Charities
