Australia-based Nikhil Chaudhary enters IPL 2026 auction
Chaudhary is the second Indian-origin player to play in the BBL after Unmukt Chand.

Nikhil Chaudhary, an Indian-origin all-rounder who plays domestic cricket in Australia, has been named as an uncapped Indian in the Indian Premier League 2026 auction list.
The IPL governing council recently finalized the player list for the auction, scheduled for Dec. 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Chaudhary, 29, appears in the Uncapped All-rounders 5 (UAL5) category with a base price of 40 lakh INR.
Born in Delhi and raised in Punjab after his family moved when he was two, Chaudhary progressed through Punjab’s age-group system before making his senior List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2017.
He moved to Australia in 2020 and has since played domestic cricket there, including the Big Bash League. Representing the Hobart Hurricanes, he has played 20 matches and scored 386 runs. In first-class cricket, he has been part of the Tasmania setup for the past few years.
Chaudhary’s state association is listed as the Punjab Cricket Association, making him eligible as an Indian entrant for the IPL. He is the second Indian-origin player to feature in the BBL after Unmukt Chand.
A total of 350 players, including Chaudhary, have been shortlisted for the upcoming IPL auction, where all ten franchises will bid to build their squads for the next season.
