AIA secures Diwali proclamations from four Bay Area cities

The Association of Indo Americans (AIA) has officially secured Diwali proclamations in four Bay Area cities, marking a proud moment for the Indian community in the area.

In partnership with 50 community organizations, the AIA secured proclamations from the cities of San José, Milpitas, Pleasanton, and Dublin.

These proclamations highlight the Indian diaspora's rising cultural influence and contributions, with city governments across the country recognizing Diwali as a celebration of light over darkness and unity in diversity.

Community leaders, city officials, and volunteers came together to commemorate the occasion, expressing gratitude for the recognition and support extended by local administrations.

AIA highlighted the significance of Diwali and said, “Diwali represents the triumph of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.” The organization also thanked San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano, Pleasanton Mayor Jack Balch and Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu for the proclamations and for the continued support that the community has received over the years.

The Association of Indo Americans is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting cultural understanding and celebrating the values of Sanatan Dharma across the Bay Area.

AIA offers a platform to celebrate the rich heritage of Indian Americans in the U.S. Its mission is to promote cultural and social interactions, organize events and educational programs about the Indian subcontinent, and share its diverse heritage with the broader community.
