The Association of Indo Americans (AIA) hosted The Great Indian Food & Shopping Fest (TGIFS Fest) and Mango Festival on May 9, featuring a celebration of culture, cuisine, entertainment, shopping and community.
Hosted in San Ramon, California, the event brought together more than 15,000 attendees from across the Bay Area. AIA described the event as a “multicultural marketplace filled with energy, flavors, music and family-friendly experiences.”
“It was inspiring to see thousands of families, community members and leaders come together to celebrate culture, diversity and unity,” said a representative from the Association of Indo Americans.
They added, “The overwhelming support from attendees, sponsors, vendors, performers and volunteers helped make this year’s festival one of the most successful and memorable celebrations to date.”
The highlight of the festivities was the Mango Festival. Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of seasonal mango-inspired desserts, beverages, sweets and specialty creations celebrating the beloved fruit during peak mango season.
During the event, AIA also felicitated Jayaram Komati on his appointment as the Andhra Pradesh government’s special representative for North America.
Komati acknowledged that he was honored and humbled by the appointment and reiterated his commitment to community development and strengthening ties between the United States, Andhra Pradesh and India.

Several distinguished public officials and community leaders attended the festival and shared their greetings and support from the stage, including Nahas Ali, consul general of India in San Francisco; Elisa Marquez, Alameda County supervisor; Ursula Jones Dickson, Alameda County district attorney; Marisol Rubio, vice mayor of San Ramon; Sridhar Verose, San Ramon councilmember; Melissa Hernandez of the BART Board of Directors; and Evan Branning and Ben Barrientos, Livermore councilmembers.
The festival featured more than 100 vendors showcasing Indian and global cuisine, fashion, jewelry, handicrafts, art, home décor and local businesses, providing a vibrant platform for entrepreneurs to connect with thousands of visitors.
Guests enjoyed nonstop live entertainment, dance and musical performances, a special Mother’s Day Saree Promenade, along with carnival rides, games and family activities for all ages.
Sanjiv Gupta CPA was the grand sponsor of the event. The event was also backed by platinum sponsor Realtor Lavanya Duvvi, travel partner Travelopod and was powered by Realtor Nagaraj Anniah.

Organized annually by AIA, TGIFS Fest has become one of the Bay Area’s most anticipated cultural events, reflecting the region’s diversity and community spirit while promoting cultural awareness, inclusion and support for local businesses.
