Indian actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood will be honored with the Miss World Humanitarian Award at the 72nd Miss World Grand Finale, to be held in Telangana on May 31.

The event is expected to draw global attention, with 108 contestants from around the world competing for the crown, currently held by Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic.
The finale will be co-hosted by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar, with performances by Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter. Manushi Chhillar, Miss World 2017 and Bollywood actress, will make a notable appearance.
Also serving as judges are Sudha Reddy, global ambassador for Beauty With a Purpose 2025 and host of this year’s gala dinner, Caryna Turrell, Miss England 2014 and public health expert, and Julia Morley, chairwoman of the Miss World Organisation, who will lead the jury and announce the winner.
The finale will follow a rigorous selection format, beginning with the presentation of all 108 contestants. Forty contestants — ten each from four continental zones — will move into the quarterfinals. Sixteen of these have already secured their spots by winning various fast-track challenges such as Top Model, Beauty With a Purpose, and Multimedia. India’s representative Nandini Gupta is among the quarterfinalists, having won the Top Model challenge in the Asia & Oceania category.
From the initial 20 teams, the field will be narrowed to the Super 8s, followed by the semifinals and then the final, where one winner will be crowned. The contestants will appear in national costumes, evening wear, and original creations by Archana Kochhar, the official fashion designer for the festival.
This year marks the first time that India is hosting the Miss World Grand Finale in over two decades, showcasing the country’s culture and hospitality. The contestants have spent the past month touring sites across Telangana, including visits to the Telangana Secretariat and Ramoji Film City, while participating in challenges focused on social causes and cultural exchange.
The grand finale will be broadcast live on SonyLIV in India and available globally via www.watchmissworld.com, with select television broadcasts in various countries.
India last hosted the Miss World Grand Finale in 1996 in Bangalore.
The new Miss World will be crowned by reigning titleholder Krystyna Pyszková, bringing the curtain down on one of the world’s most enduring and influential beauty pageants.
