Sumit Johar, the Chief Information Officer of California based software company BlackLine, has been named the winner of the 2025 Bay Area CIO ORBIE Award in the Large Corporate category.
The award recognizes CIOs who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership and have showcased outstanding leadership, management effectiveness, and business value created through technological innovation.
Finalists and winners for the ORBIE Awards are selected through a rigorous, independent peer-review process led by prior ORBIE recipients. The selection criteria focus on leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.
Johar, a veteran in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and the intelligent automation industry, oversees information technology and information security globally at BlackLine. He holds a B.tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India.

Owen Ryan, the CEO of BlackLine, said in a statement, "Sumit's visionary leadership is a driving force behind our innovation."
