डेमोक्रेटिक कांग्रेसमैन राजा कृष्णमूर्ति ने तुलसी गेबार्ड की नेशनल इंटेलिजेंस यानी DNI के निदेशक पद के लिए संभावित नियुक्ति पर गहरी चिंता जताई है। तुलसी गेबार्ड रिपब्लिकन हैं और अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प उनकी नियुक्ति पर पहले ही मुहर लगा चुके हैं। कांग्रेसमैन की चिंता इस बात की है क्योंकि उन्होंने सीरिया के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति और तानाशाह बशर अल-असद के साथ गेबार्ड के पिछले संबंधों का हवाला दिया। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के प्रमुख मुद्दों पर गेबार्ड के रुख को लेकर सवाल उठाए हैं।
