ગાંધીનગર ખાતે મુખ્યમંત્રી ભૂપેન્દ્ર પટેલ અને મારુતિ સુઝુકીના મેનેજિંગ ડિરેક્ટર હિતાશી તાકેઉચીની ઉપસ્થિતિમાં ખોરજમાં જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. દ્વારા ઉપલબ્ધ કરાયેલી પ્લાન્ટના રોકાણ માટેના ઇન્વેસ્ટમેન્ટ લેટર હેન્ડ ઓવર સેરીમની યોજાઈ હતી. મારુતિ સુઝુકી ઇન્ડિયા લિમિટેડ ખોરજમાં જી.આઇ.ડી.સી. દ્વારા ઉપલબ્ધ કરાયેલી 1750 એકર જમીન પર 35 હજાર કરોડ રૂપિયાના રોકાણ સાથે વ્હીકલ મેન્યુફેક્ચરિંગના નવા પ્લાન્ટની સ્થાપના કરશે. મારુતિના આ નવા પ્લાન્ટથી સંભવિત 12 હજારથી વધુ લોકોને રોજગાર અવસર મળશે. એટલું જ નહીં, આ પ્લાન્ટના પરિણામે આસપાસના વિસ્તારોમાં એન્સીલીયરી યુનિટ્સ અને એમ.એસ.એમ.ઈ એકમો પણ સ્થપાશે એનાથી અંદાજે 7.50 લાખથી વધુ પરોક્ષ રોજગારી મળતી થશે અને એક સમગ્ર ક્લસ્ટરનું નિર્માણ થવાથી ઓટો હબ તરીકેની ગુજરાતની ઓળખને વધુ બળ મળશે.
