Michael Bernard Beckwith is a New Thought minister, author, and founder and spiritual director of the Agape International Spiritual Center in Beverly Hills, California. He is also co-founder of the Association for Global New Thought and co-chair of the Season for Nonviolence, along with Arun Gandhi.
Beckwith was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He began his spiritual journey in the 1970s, studying the teachings of East and West. He was ordained as a New Thought minister in 1981.
In 1986, Beckwith founded Agape International Spiritual Center, a transdenominational community that now has over 10,000 members. Agape is known for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, its focus on spiritual growth and transformation, and its commitment to social justice.
Beckwith is a sought-after speaker and teacher. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, including Oprah Winfrey's SuperSoul Sunday and The Larry King Show. He is also the author of several books, including Spiritual Liberation, The Answer is You, and Life Visioning.
Beckwith's teachings are based on the principles of New Thought, which emphasizes the power of the mind to create reality. He believes that we are all spiritual beings with the potential to live lives of joy, abundance, and peace.
